Order, Counter-Order, Disorder?
Regional and Global Security Orders in the Shadow of Sino-American Competition
February 9-10, 2023
On 9-10 February 2023, the Department of Social Sciences at West Point, the Centre for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the MESO Lab of the Ohio State University will hold a seminar entitled “Order, Counterorder, Disorder?” in support of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Chairman’s Action Group. The seminar will take place at West Point, with a virtual option for participants who are unable to travel. The seminar will result in peer-reviewed articles and a special report for the Chairman’s Action Group taking stock of the state of the current international order, prospects for its future, and implications for strategic planning at the national and multilateral levels.
You are invited to submit an abstract or abstracts related to any of the 16 themes below – please send to [email protected] by 1 November, 2022. Abstracts should be 250 words or less. Each panel will have a chair, a discussant, and at least one rapporteur to ensure participants are able to efficiently present their work and get feedback, and that the panels’ overall discussions are effectively captured.
